Hazy Shade of Summer

We often have haze during the summer but not smoky haze from wildfires in Canada, which is what we will continue to have for the next several days. Scattered showers end this evening. The haze and clouds will keep temperatures a little cooler today. We have dry weather with comfortable temperatures Thursday through Saturday but the hazy skies will remain. Showers and thundershowers should develop late Sunday afternoon and continue overnight into Monday morning. Tuesday looks dry.

Forecast Discussion

Wildfires across the Canada have already burned more than 3.3 million hectares of land - an area 12 times the 10-year average for this time of year. Smoke from fires in eastern Canada will continue to provide a hazy look to the skies for the next several days. Occasional rain will reduce the haze some.

A cold front moved through from the north Wednesday afternoon showers. Showers end this evening and partial clearing commences overnight. Drier air works in Thursday and Friday and temperatures will be pleasant. The hazy skies will continue though.

Temperatures warm Saturday under hazy skies and we remain dry. A cold front moving in from the west will bring showers and thundershowers late Sunday afternoon and evening, lasting into Monday morning. The cold front should move through Monday afternoon clearing out the rain. Tuesday looks nice under high pressure.
